Mycopesticides
A Mycopesticide is a fungus used to exterminate pests. The use of mycopesticides has the following benefits:
- not harmful to plants, mammals, fish, bees, other beneficial insects
- replaces toxic pesticides (protects groundwater)
- worker insects implement their own death all while spreading spores to the entire colony
- low tolerance buildup
- to be used with traditional chemicals as an attractant (less chemicals needed)
- long term protection of treated sites
- the use of structural building materials otherwise susceptible to insect destruction
