Mycopesticides

A Mycopesticide is a fungus used to exterminate pests. The use of mycopesticides has the following benefits:

  • not harmful to plants, mammals, fish, bees, other beneficial insects
  • replaces toxic pesticides (protects groundwater)
  • worker insects implement their own death all while spreading spores to the entire colony
  • low tolerance buildup
  • to be used with traditional chemicals as an attractant (less chemicals needed)
  • long term protection of treated sites
  • the use of structural building materials otherwise susceptible to insect destruction
